Call for scholarships: Workshop on digital security and data governance for NGOs in Latin America
We are offering 20 to 25 scholarships for board members and executive directors of NGOs in Latin America. Four online modules, in Spanish, starting November 17, 2026, to make strategic decisions on data governance, digital risk and responsible artificial intelligence. The workshop is part of the Digital Security program. Applications close November 9; the full program can be downloaded as a PDF.
Stories of men: talking about what we feel is also something men do
In short videos made in Central America by our Correspondents Network, young men talk about what is rarely said out loud: emotions, asking for help, and unlearning ideas about "being a man" inherited without question. This is what alternative narratives of masculinity look like in practice: told by peers, in the formats young people watch. Published on our LinkedIn page.

New DKY Digital video: the intrauterine device, without myths
DKY Digital released “Intrauterine device”: what an IUD is, how it works, which types exist and what to expect when it is fitted. It is now linked from the program page (video in Spanish).
The assessment on sexuality and contraception is now designed and free to download
The designed edition of the regional assessment with 201 adolescents and young people from Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Costa Rica can now be downloaded free of charge from the Puntos de Encuentro Association website.
The Digital Manosphere study is now a free audiobook
The full study on algorithms and masculinity narratives in El Salvador and Honduras can now be listened to, narrated in Spanish, chapter by chapter, from the Research page.
Three new videos on YouTube: earthquakes, emergency contraception and Maquilisquad
DKY Digital released “Getting ready for an earthquake without freezing up” (September 10) and “Emergency contraceptive pill” (August 26), and Miradas Moradas premiered the video feature “Maquilisquad”, about a group of women who took over a skatepark in El Salvador (September 1). All three are now linked from each program’s page (videos in Spanish).
Migrante App gets a new home screen: more news in view and one-tap access to resources
We shipped two updates in under 48 hours (versions 1.0.64 and 1.0.65 on Google Play; 1.17.5 and 1.17.6 on the App Store). The home screen drops the banners that hid the news: the migration assistant, countries of interest and resources —AI chat, learning materials, job network, currency converter and saved items— are now one tap away, the news list fills the screen, and the “Know your rights” legal guide sits at the bottom. Design fixes to the news filters and podcast pages are included. Available by updating the app from the store.
Digital Security: a new program for social organizations, young women and LGBTQ+ people
We present the program created in 2026 so that social organizations, young women and LGBTQ+ people can use technology safely and to their advantage: digital protection, data governance, entrepreneurship with technology and artificial intelligence in the service of communities. In preparation: the Latin American Workshop on Data Governance for NGOs and “Use AI”, for LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs and young women. We also reorganized the Programs page: every program in one place, with the alliances and regional spaces where we take part.
My School, a Safe Place: the school sexual-abuse prevention program now has its own page
We present the program that works with students, teachers and families in Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala to prevent violence and sexual abuse in schools, with the project video and the Little Red Riding Hood story. We also published the English version of the 2008 impact evaluation, Catalyzing Personal and Social Change.
New on the site: the masculinities program and four more studies to download
We present the masculinities program page, with the five Men's Story Project videos recorded in Guatemala and Costa Rica (2025 partnership), and publish in Research the studies on masculinities and violence in Nicaragua — carried out with Promundo, now Equimundo — and the assessment of LGBTQI+ organizations in Central America, in English and Spanish. The "Where we work" map now shows what has been done in each country.
Miradas Moradas publishes its August newsletter
Two new magazine articles — “The internet as territory” and “It doesn’t say ‘hate women’. It says ‘be a high-value man’”, based on our study of the digital manosphere — plus a profile of the Maquilisquad women’s skating collective. The team also took part in SIPConnect 2026 (Miami, July).
Migrante App: new version on Google Play and the App Store
Update 1.17.3 fixes bugs and improves the app’s stability. It is available for free in both stores.

We launched the Contact page with a form, the mission strip on the homepage and faster loading on mobile. The loom with the threads of diversity illustrates what we do: weaving communication for social change.

Research and half-year results
Two new studies
The digital manosphere in El Salvador and Honduras (185 participants) and the regional assessment on sexuality and contraception with 201 adolescents and young people. Both as free PDFs.
1.3 million people reached
DKY Digital, Miradas Moradas and Migrante App reached more than 1.3 million people, mostly organically; 4,991 migrants used the app.
Closing of the women's integral health project
After three years in Nicaragua: 1,809 women participants, 2,620 therapy sessions and 42 psychologists trained. External evaluation completed.
