Counting the stitches: what changes and how we know
Every figure on this page carries its period and its source. We prefer an honest number to a big promise. That is how we stay accountable to the people who take part in the programs and to those who make them possible from the United States.

How we measure
Where these figures come from
The figures on this page come from three sources, each with its own method:
- Semi-annual institutional reports. Every six months Puntos de Encuentro consolidates its program data: analytics from the digital platforms (reach, views, interactions, web traffic and newsletter open rates), participation records from training, and accompaniment agreements signed with organizations. The report for the first half of 2026 is the source of most current figures.
- External evaluations. Projects funded by international cooperation are evaluated at closure by independent teams, as happened with the women's integral health project (2023–2026). Reports are available on request to institutional donors.
- Applied research. Studies with their own methodology, such as the survey of 185 men in El Salvador and Honduras on the digital manosphere and the regional assessment with 201 adolescents and young people on sexuality and contraception, published in 2026 and downloadable from the research page.
There are things we choose not to count: names, faces and locations of participants in risky contexts. The Foundation publishes an annual report to donors and files its Form 990 with the IRS as required; if you need a figure with its source, write to us and we will send it.
What guides every figure
Three commitments
- Real figures, with a period. No number without its year or semester. When a project ends, we say so.
- Protection first. We do not publish data, faces or testimonies that put participants, sources or authors at risk.
- Evidence over slogans. Programs are designed from assessments and externally evaluated whenever funding allows.
