Communication that changes lives in Central America.

We fund feminist media, training, health and human-rights programs for women, young people, LGBTIQ+ people and migrants in Central America. Every thread strengthens the weave.

Since 1991Thirty-five years changing lives, one conversation at a time.

Our mission: to connect people in the United States who want to give with the work Puntos de Encuentro has carried out in Central America since 1991 — feminist communication, capacity strengthening, democracy and human rights — advancing social justice by questioning, from a feminist perspective, the power relations that sustain inequality and violence.

Who we are

A foundation that carries the weave to new hands.

Fundación Puntos de Encuentro Inc. is a foundation based in the United States. Our purpose is simple: to open a trustworthy bridge between people who want to give and the communities in Central America who are already weaving change.

The work we support is feminist and Central American. It pursues social justice by transforming unequal power relations — of gender, age and origin — so that people can live free of violence, discrimination and exclusion, at home, in intimate life and in the street. Because the personal is political, change begins in everyday relationships and grows into collective action.

The threads of this weave carry many colors. Women of all ages, youth, LGBTIQ+ people and Central American migrants cross this loom without losing their identity. That is the meaning of diversity with equity, and of the colors woven through this site.

The programs described on this site are implemented in Central America by Asociación Puntos de Encuentro, an organization that carries forward more than three decades of feminist communication and education in the region. The Foundation speaks with its own voice, and every dollar it mobilizes serves that work.

What guides us

Real numbers, real periods

Every figure on this site comes from institutional reports and is labeled with the period it covers.

People are protected first

We never publish names, images or testimonies without authorization. In adverse contexts, protecting communicators and participants comes before publicity.

Evidence over promises

Programs are monitored, evaluated and researched. What does not work is said out loud and corrected.

Where we work

Five countries, one weave.

Tap a country to see what we do there: the Association’s home and the Men’s Story Project videos in Costa Rica; the audiovisual legacy and the masculinities studies born in Nicaragua; the Miradas Moradas podcast and the binational masculinities study in El Salvador; GenGen and the Men’s Story Project videos in Guatemala; and the digital manosphere research in Honduras.

The programs your support sustains

Three strategies, one weave.

Communication for social change, capacity strengthening and alliances: this is how the work of Puntos de Encuentro in Central America is woven. Discover each program, its results and who it reaches.

1. Communication for social change

Miradas Moradas, DKY Digital, Migrante App and the Communicators Network

Feminist journalism, a youth media outlet, an app for people who migrate and a regional network of young communicators. More than 1.3 million people reached in the first half of 2026.

2. Capacity strengthening

Human rights, digital security, safe schools, gender, health and masculinities

We accompany organizations, communities, schools and men across the region to defend rights and transform practices. New in 2026: the Digital Security program for social organizations, young women and LGBTQ+ people.

3. Alliances and articulation

The knots that hold the weave

Feminist organizations, independent media, universities, networks of women defenders and regional spaces such as MenEngage, the Global Narrative Hive and the 2026 SBCC Summit. No single thread holds a weave together.

Why donors trust this weave

Giving here is joining, not just funding.

Regional roots

The work is led from Central America, by teams who know the terrain, the risks and the language of their own communities.

Reported by period

Results are published with the period they cover, drawn from institutional reports. Concluded projects are named as concluded.

Independent evaluation

External evaluations and regional research measure what changes, and findings guide the next stretch of the weave.

Care as a standard

Security protocols protect communicators, sources and participants. No visibility is worth putting a person at risk.
